Michael Jackson: Billy Jean

Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" was a worldwide commercial and critical success. It became one of the best-selling singles of 1983, dominating the US and UK charts simultaneously. "Billie Jean" was written by Jackson and the lyrics referred to a real life experience, in which a female fan claimed he fathered one of her twins. "Billie Jean" rose to prominence through the distinctive bass line and Jackson's vocal hiccups. Considered one of the most revolutionary songs in history, "Billie Jean" was certified platinum in 1989. The music video was the first video by a black artist to be aired by MTV. The video also introduced white viewers to black music. "Billie Jean" aided Thriller in becoming the biggest selling album of all time.
